Honduran actor, singer, guitarist and composer born in Colon, Honduras (07/13/1906 - 01/05/1997). He was married to actress Francisca López de Laboriel with whom they had four children: the well-known Mexican singer Johnny Laboriel, as well as the bassist Abraham Laboriel and the singers Ela Laboriel and Francis Laboriel. Grandfather of Abraham Laboriel Jr..

He is considered the first Garifuna actor to have a successful film career. Laboriel was an actor during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema between 1933 and 1964. He participated in more than 28 Mexican films between 1938 and 1972 According to information from Luis Jaime Chapa, Juan José Laboriel belonged to a trio called Xochimilco in 1946.
