Los Angeles-based country music harmonica and guitar player, singer and songwriter, born in Honolulu, Hawaii.
In the late 50’s his family moved to Alhambra, a suburb in Los Angeles where he grew up.
Dawson worked with Doug Dillard, Claudia Lennear, Hoyt Axton, Guthrie Thomas and his songs were recorded by the likes of Johnny Cash, John Hartford & Doug Dillard, Sarah Lee Guthrie, Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen, Three Dog Night.
After the decline of the music industry, after a year in real estate, he went into the IT business and worked 10 years at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena and 20 years at the Walt Disney Animation Studios.
After his retirement in 2014 Dawson has been writing and recording, and designing/building custom acoustic guitars and ukuleles for private clients.
He released an album of electroacoustic Americana, folk and blues songs in 2012 called The Writing Wall on his Dawsophone label.
