Freelance musician, served as principal oboist for ensembles such as the
American Symphony Orchestra, the
Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra and the
New York City Opera Orchestra. Schuman was also a music teacher, longtime music director of New York's Washington Square Festival, and worked with many orchestras around the world either as musician or conductor.
